TESTIMONY
Topic: testimony
Testimony What is my testimony? What is your testimony? Webster's dictionary defines the word testimony in three ways. The first is as a statement made under oath to establish a fact. The second is any declaration, and the third is any form as evidence or proof. As a Christian my personal testimony is a statement that declares the fact that Jesus Christ loves me by pointing to the evidence of that love which can be found in my own life. Bear with me a moment and I will take you briefly to places in my past, when my heart was heavy and downcast, for it was there that God showed me his love could not be surpassed. Born in to a religious family both of my parents being raised catholic took me through the monotonous steps that many people still believe are necessary for the salvation of their souls. It was not long after my baptismal that my family had moved from our first home in Long Island New York to a town house in what was but no longer is a diminutive tranquil New Jersey village just big enough population wise to pass for a town. It was here that my father being led by the Holy Spirit was drawn to enter a Pentecostal church. My mother tells she can remember being hesitant about because she was raised with the idea that if you entered such a church you would not go to heaven. However the LOVE of the God they taught me to serve could not be surpassed by fears and false teachings, and they accepted Jesus as there lord and savior that day. My mother told me that difference for her was the overwhelming feeling of God's love that she felt. It should be known that all of this did not develop by itself. My parents had hired a Christian house keeper to watch me while they went to work. They way she lived her life spoke to my parents' hearts sparking their interest. Almost without a word seeds were planted that brought my family in to the very arms of our heavenly father. And so I under his wings I grew . . .
